The Monolith.

I’m so scattered right now.

My kitchen looks like a bomb went off. My basement looks just as shitty because of the re-arranging of the kitchen.

Okay. A friend offered me a cabinet.

He sent me some pictures.

I said “sure”. This is something I get in to trouble for… I kindof tend to hoard furniture. I also kindof didn’t tell Rain that I’d accepted said cabinet, so when we eventually went to pick it up and discovered it was about 7 feet wide and 6 and a half feet tall… he was a bit peeved. I got a bit of a talking to.. and although  I’ll try my best, I can’t make any promises that I won’t come home one day with a giant hoosier or something.

We’ve spent the last few days re-arranging the kitchen, and yesterday, putting together the monolithic cabinet. Now that it’s 99% together, I’m sitting here thinking bout re-painting the kitchen, cabinet, armoire and considering trying the Rust-oleum Cabinet Transformations stuff.

Has anybody tried it? Can you tell me how it went for you? I like the idea of re-facing my kitchen for less money than it would cost to replace all the cabinets.. plus my cabinets are solid oak, so it would be a pity to get rid of them. I’ll try it if it doesn’t suck balls or completely drain my pocketbook. The results look pretty awesome, check them out here.

As I’m sitting here sipping my coffee and staring blankly in to my kitchen, that is both simultaneously 2 things I seem to love, chaos and cooking.. I’m curious. What would you like to see me write about? Cooking / preserving, DIY,  fashion, music, art, animals, antiques, tutorials…. what? What turns your crank? I’d love to know, leave a comment (don’t be shy, the more input the better!) and tell me what you’d like to read about!!
